My April post in May
Oops, I guess I missed writing in April. There has been quite a lot going on since I last wrote. On the 15th of March we were able to get some awesome 4D pictures of our little boy. He's so cute! hehe well, as cute as one can be on an ultrasound picture at 27.5 weeks. ;) I thought that the picture looked like some of my older brother's baby pictures. We are so excited to have our little one soon. (I'm 35 weeks now).
On the 19th though we got some bad news- my Grandpa wasn't doing very well and they didn't think he would live much longer. So, the next day (Tue.) I drove up with my parent and brother and sister (who was home from Spring Break), to Utah. It was a nice long 12 hour drive. We spent the next few days at the specialty hospital, spending as much time with Grandpa as we could and then on Friday the 23rd, a little before 1pm, he passed away. It was sad, but I know that he is in a better place- without all the pain and suffering he was going through. He was a great man, and anyone would be proud to call him Grandpa! I know that I will be able to see him one day and he will be like himself. I feel bad that my kids wont get to know him here on this earth, but he wasn't the same man he was before anyway.
The funeral was held on Wed.the 28th of March, 2 days before his 51st anniversary. Gus was able to get work off and come up the Tuesday before (27th). I missed my husband a lot during that week... It was kind of stressful having him come up though, because he has never driven that long by himself before, and he said that he didn't trust our dear old truck. We had been looking at other cars because we knew that we would need one with the baby, but were hesitant because we wanted a good car, but we don't have a lot of money. But Gus looked and looked and then a car had just been traded in and it seemed like a good car, so he bought it. and drove up in it. We are now the proud owners of a 2005 Toyota Camry LE. (Well, technically the bank owns it I guess... hah and that in and of its self is another story...). So far, we have really liked our car and it drives nice- such a difference from our 1994 Toyota Pickup... hahaha. We kept our truck though, we figured we could get more use out of it then if we traded it in. and, I'm kind of partial to it since it has been my baby since 2005. ;)
That weekend, we drove down to my other Grandparents, who aren't doing so hot either. My parents succeeded in convincing them to come down and stay with them for a little while. So, it was good that we had another vehicle. Gus and I left early Sat morning and drove the long 12 hours home, bringing my brother and sister with us, while my parents left a little later that day with my Grandparents. There trip was a lot longer because they had to stop more for my Grandparents. We eventually all made it back and my grandparents stayed almost for a month. I think they really enjoyed it, although my Grandma, who's memory isn't very good, kept telling us that they were leaving the next day and we had to keep telling her that she had just gotten here. She started doing better though and they were sad to leave when they did, but my Grandpa had a doctors appointment he had to go to. They said they missed it though and wanted to come back down, so we are hoping that in the next few months that they can come back. When my parents took them back, they drove about half way and my Uncle drove the other half- so they both drove the equivalent of the trip without my parents having to drive for 24+ hours.
And in other news... We got a new apartment!!! kind of... haha We put money down on a bigger place with AC and washer and dryer hook-ups. We are so excited for it. The down side though is that we had to be out of our old apartment by the end of the month, or pay for a full month because they wouldn't pro-rate it. Normally, that would be fine, except that in the new apartment, there were still people living there. They told us that it would take about a week to turn the apartment around. So we decided that to save some money, we would just live with my parents for a week (my Grandparents left that same weekend, so it worked out). But then we found out that the earliest we could move in would be Friday May 11th, but more likely Monday the 14th. So, not that it is a huge deal to stay for two weeks instead of one, but our stuff is taking over my parents house, and my sister is coming home from college either this Thursday or Friday and there isn't much room because our stuff is in the spare bedroom and we are in "her" bedroom, with the double bed. (The bedroom use to be mine and hers and then I went off to college and my parents bought a bedroom set with a double bed so that they could have it for visitors and such, but it was her bedroom now... and then she went off to college and it did become a guest room, but was still "her" room when she came home, and now she will be home for the summer and the room that use to be the office/den/whatever now also has a twin bed in it, but it also has all of our stuff in it and the door barely opens...) So, now we have to figure something out... haha
And the last news I have, that I can think of right now, is that my Doctor told me she was moving. Hummm... so, I needed to get a new one. The good thing is that they are all pretty good and I haven't really heard anything negative about them, but making the decision was hard cuz I worry so much... haha Well, I chose one, and I go see him this week, so I hope it goes well- also my doctors appointments are every week now. We are getting so close to having this baby!!! I am getting more and more uncomfortable and the baby's kicks hurt now and aren't quite as cute... hehe and I'm more tired- which makes moving hard. I'm so lucky that I have such a wonderful husband and family!!! They help me soo much!!!
